Kahit hindi singer, Melai natalbugan si Denise
No doubt na nakatulong nang husto para bumongga lalo ang showbiz career ni Melai Cantiveros matapos niyang manalo bilang champ ng first season ng reality contest, Your Face Sounds Familiar (YFSF), na obvious na hindi nagaganap kay Denise Laurel, second champ sa nabanggit na program.
Hanggang ngayon ay wala pa siyang maipapagmalaking assignment after the high rating series, Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita, which co-starred her with Vina Morales, Christian Vasquez and former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) 737 housemates, Jane Oineza, Manolo Pedrosa and the tandem of Joshua Garcia and Loisa Andalio.
But, of course like Melai, as champ of YFSF second season, nanalo siya ng P1-M, repeat P1-M.
Denise has a movie too, yes, the soon-to-be released Magtanggol The Movie, which has at the helm Direk Sigfreid Barros-Sanchez and produced by Felix and Bert Productions.
The film, which will premiere at the SM Megamall on May 6, will have its regular showing in all SM theaters nationwide starting May 18.
“Napaka-timely ng kuwento ng pelikula,” ani Direk Sigfreid, who wrote the story, too, with Henrie Famocan Enaje and Henry dela Cruz, based on the concept of Juanchito “Jojo” Dispo.
“Tungkol ito,” patuloy ni Direk Sigfreid, “about a family na ang isa sa kanilang miyembro, na isang senator, na ang advocacy ay ang maipagtanggol ang rights and protection ng OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers), ay napagbintangang utak ng sunud-sunod ng pagkamatay ng mga abusive Filipino employers.
Bukod kay Denise, Magtanggol also stars Tom Rodriguez, Ejay Falcon, Yam Concepcion, Albie Casiño, Dina Bonnevie, Joonee Gamboa, William Martinez, Ricky Davao, Boy2 Quizon, Giselle Sanchez, Myrtel Sarrosa and Buboy Villar, among others.
Melai dalawang beses napapanood araw-araw
Of Melai, she is seen twice daily (weekdays) on TV. Both her TV shows, We Will Survive at ang morning talk show na Magandang Buhay, are both rating, saad pa rin ni Melai.
We Will survive is aired before My Super Dad. Ang Magandang Buhay naman ay pang-umaga.
While in We Will Survive, co-starrer ni Melai ang kanyang fellow comedienne na si Pokwang, Carlo Aquino, Jeric Raval and former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate Mariz Racal, in Magandang Buhay, co-hosts niya naman ay sina Karla Estrada at Jolina Magdangal.
Obvious na happy rin ang homelife ni Melai.
Ayon sa kanya, mabait na asawa raw si Jason Francisco. And ideal dad to their kapwa-one year old na anak na si Amelia.
Karla nakakabirit pa rin
Now speaking of Karla, successful ang kanyang katatapos na concert, Her Highness, Queen Mother, sa Kia Theater last Saturday.
Kayang-kaya pa rin niyang bumirit ng mga awiting pang-Tawag Ng Tanghalan ng It’s Showtime, where she is a member of the panel of judges.
