Sam hindi pa rin isinusuko ang pangarap sa Hollywood

YSTAR - Baby E - Pang-masa

Ngayong taong 2015 ay ang pang-sampung taon ni Sam Milby in the showbiz.

How time flies, Sam himself agrees.

A product of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB), Sam who hails from Ohio, USA said life was never the same again for him after lumabas siya sa Bahay ni Kuya.

Pinapirma siya ng ABS-CBN ng contract because of his looks and of course perseverance na maging artista.

Pero gaya ng sinabi ni Sam, hindi naging madali ang kanyang daan patungo sa tagumpay, kumbaga. Kinailangan niyang magtrabaho mabuti lalo na sa kanyang pananagalog, since very thick ang English accent niya, having been born and brought up in US.

“I came over to the country to try my luck here,” pahayag ni Sam. “According to my mom, a Pilipina, dito sa Pilipinas ako may future. And it looks like she’s right. Was right.”

So far din naman kasi, according to Sam, wala siyang complaints sa nangyayari sa kanya ngayon sa Pilipinas, lalo’t where his showbiz career is concerned.

Halos hindi siya nababakante ng trabaho. Like now, malapit na ang showing ng kanyang movie for Regal Entertainment na The Pre Nup, kasama si Jennylyn Mercado as his leading lady.

He is scheduled to co-star with Piolo Pascual, Toni Gonzaga and Jolina Magdangal in upcoming series, Written in the Star, na ididirek ni Andoy Ranay.

On Sunday, ASAP Live is honoring him with a tribute because nga of his 10th year in showbiz.

What more can a Sam Milby ask for?

“Well career wise, lalo’t sa local showbiz, sobra na, if ever I ask pa more.

“I hope na lang, my luck continues dito sa Pilipinas,” pahayag ni Sam. “Although, pangarap ko talaga to try Hollywood. And I will not stop in pursuing that dream.”

As for marriage, Sam in an interview said, he will settle down at 35.

Thirty two years old pa lamang siya.

Isabelle isasahog sa serye nina Zanjoe at Cristine

Dumagdag sa cast ng upcoming series na Tubig at Langis, which will mark the first team-up nina Zanjoe Marudo at Cristine Reyes si Isabelle Daza.

Gumanap si Isabelle bilang isang kontrabida sa kanyang katatapos lang na seryeng Nathaniel.

Isabelle said, she doesn’t actually mind doing kontrabida roles. As her mom, former Miss Universe Gloria Diaz told her, a role is still a role, mahaba man ito o hindi. Pangkontrabida o pangbida man.

Ang importante ay kung papaano siya in-assign sa isang role at anong klaseng atake ang gagawin niya dito.

Now showing…

Now showing at the Gateway Cinema 1, Araneta Center in Cubao, ang ilan sa prize-winning films from the Berlin Film Festival.

Ilan dito ay ang El Hombre Nuevo/The New Man (Uruguay/Chile/Nicaragua), Dressed as a Girl (UK) and Nasty Baby (USA), which will serve as the closing film on October 11.

This particular event is part of the Queen City International Pink Filmfest (QCIPFF), which is a celebration as well of the LGBT’s getting recognized as a community.

Recently, if you still don’t know, the administration of Mayor Herbert Bautista passed a bill, now known as Gender Fair Ordinance, thus making Quezon City as the first in Asia to recognize gender-fairness.

Professor Nick Deocampo is the director of the ongoing QCIPPFF.

Personal…

From Pempe Rodrigo: “Please offer prayers for the eternal repose of the soul of our dear Elizabeth Ramsey, who joined her Creator this morning (Thursday, October 8).

Will update the wake.

Elizabeth is a singer and Jaya’s mom. (Nakikiramay po kami. – SVA)
