Christopher istriktong ama kay Mariel
Baby E - June 3, 2013 - 12:00am

Istriktong ama pala si Christopher de Leon lalo’t where his daughter Mariel (Maria Angelica) is concerned.

‘‘Lalo’t pa na where his daughter’s suitors are concerned,’’ sabi sa amin ng isang malapit kay Boyet . ‘‘At marami-rami sila ha?’’

And it is not a surprise. Pretty, sexy, tall, articulate, and intelligent, marami ang nanghihinayang when the 19-year-old Binibining Pilipinas contestant didn’t make it to the top three, or, even man lang sa top five.

Well, wait tayo kapag nag-decide si Mariel na sumunod sa yapak ng mga magulang (Sandy Andolong is her mom). Tiyak, she will make it.

‘‘Actually, I act as a barkada to my daughter,” from Boyet. “I tell her kung bakit istrikto ako when it comes to her manliligaw. And I’m glad, she understands.’’

Truly, one of the best actors hanggang ngayon he remains in demand, both in film and TV. Right now, in fact, Boyet is doing Misibis Bay with Ritz Azul playing his wife.

‘‘It’s a short but significant role,’’ ani Boyet. ‘‘Sa isang artista dapat itanim niya sa kanyang isipan na it’s not the length of the role which should count. Kundi paano niya ito ipi-perform. Kahit pa sabihing maikli ito. O insignificant din.’’

From the start of the series, magkakaroon na ng ideya ang manonood na ‘di magiging mahaba ang exposure ni Boyet. Five days lang kasi ang ibinigay niyang allotment for his taping for the series.

Kasi nga naman may nakatakda siyang gawing series for ABS-CBN where he would have for his co-stars Angel Locsin, Paulo Avelino, at Andi Eigenmann.

Entitled Hanggang Kailan Kita Mamahalin, it will have for director Rory Quintos.

Boyet’s recent pagkatalo in the last elections bilang congressman in one of the districts in Batangas City has not dampened his desire for a political career.

A former board member of the province, Boyet said he might consider running again in 2016. Feel daw kasi niya, may mga pagbabago siyang maihahandog sa mga constituent niya sa distritong kanyang pinupuntirya.

As he said: ‘‘When I joined politics I know that you either win or lose when you run for a position. Who knows, the next time around I might prove lucky again.’’

Luis hindi pa handang mag-iba ng trabaho

Luis Manzano or Lucky is not keen, not yet, on a political career. Even if he reportedly has the approval of his mom, newly reelected Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto. And step dad, Sen. Ralph Recto.

Malaki rin ang posibilidad na manalo siya lalo’t kung pagiging mayor ng Lipa City ang pupuntiryahin niya. His mom left a record as one of the best mayors (for three terms) Lipa City has ever had.

At 30 something Lucky believes, however, that he is not yet prepared na mag-iba, wika nga, ng trabaho. Besides, as it is, he remains one of the busiest TV hosts sa ABS-CBN. As it is, dalawang shows ang hino-host niya. Yes, the game show Minute to Win It and the reality show Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) where he has good friend Billy Crawford for his co-host.

Nagtapos kahapon ang third season ng PGT. ABS-CBN reportedly is preparing the reality show’s fourth season.

Kris Aquino, AiAi delas Alas, at former ABS-CBN President Freddie Garcia, or FMG, are the weekly judges of the reality talent show.
