PSN Opinyon

Money is not everything!

IYO ANTOY - Antolin dela Cerna -

Busa kayud tama’s ginhawa.

Alang kanila, money is everything. Maoy hinungdan nga naghitak ang corruption sa atong nasud, tungod kay by all means, by hook or by crook, kinahanglan kadungagan ang nagtumpi nilang bahandi ug nagtinpun-og nga kabtangan. Maglisud sila pag-moderate sa ilang greed.

Anyway, niay sinuwat ni Wilson Lee Flores sa Philippine Star, about money, ako ning ipaambit ninyo:

* The great thing about money is not creature comforts, but freedom. With money, one has infinitely more freedom to do what we want or to live life as we wish.

* Money alone cannot make a person happy. Being content can make a middle class or even a poor person very happy, but discontent (kining dili matagbaw) makes even the richest guy forever unhappy.

* Money is important, but not the most important. Many other things are more important to happiness than money – our family, good health, friends, music, arts, a good name, a good relationship with God, love, humor, nature, etc., etc.

* Money is often the cause of many relationship problems. I’ll never forget sexy actress Ara Mina years ago telling me that even in a lot of showbiz or ordinary relationship, money problems cause so many breakups. Bitaw!

* Easy come easy go, applies to money too. Labi nag pinaspasan nga kwarta.

* Never marry for money. For true happiness, marry a husband or wife who can help you have a harmonious family life and don’t marry for money. A Scottish proverb is correct in saying: ‘Don’t marry for money. You can borrow it cheaper.’

* Money can’t buy happiness.

* Don’t expend your life’s energies only for money. To be happy, I believe we should pause and analyze our priorities in life and the afterlife, so that we can balance our lifestyles to also devote time, energy and talents to things non-financial but means a lot to us like our loved ones, our passions, our spiritual well-being, friends, health, etc., etc. Sa laktud, money after all, money is not everything.
