Man kills self; shoots wife, daughter

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines – A businessman reportedly committed suicide after shooting his wife and daughter in Barangay Abinganan, Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya on Tuesday. 

Reonel Ramel, 49, reportedly told his neighbor Nixon Domingo, 37, at around 9 a.m. that his family would commit suicide. 

Domingo told police he heard gunshots when Ramel entered his house. 
 Ramel died from a gunshot to the head and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital. His wife Monica, 49, manager of the Rural Bank of Bayombong, and daughter Catherine were confined in the same hospital.

Ramel had been depressed after his brother filed a frustrated murder case against him over a hacking incident, according to his neighbors.
