Miller tops Tri-X mountainbike

CEBU, Philippines – Veteran cyclist Joseph Miller was the fastest in the mountainbike event of the Tri-X yesterday at the Santa Fe Beach Club in Bantayan Island.

Miller finished in one hour, 46 minutes and 36 seconds, while Omega Pro’s Joland Olmilla place second with 1:48:30 and Bryan Borling was third with 1:49:43.

Meanwhile, Olmilla’s teammates in Paul Jumamil and Banjo Norte came up with a 1-2 finish in the road bike event with Jumamil logging 3:01:22 followed by Norte with 3:04:29. Bohol’s Emmanuel Commendador settled for third place with a time of 3:17:42.

Cianyl Gonzales and En Torres, for their part, reigned their respective classes in the women's open. Gonzales topped the road bike, while Torre dominated the mountainbike action.

The other winners in the road and mountainbike age groups were  Vic Montebon and Justine Gian Carlo Pesons (24-under), Domiku Ugarte and Alexander Ray Diaz(25-29), Alex Badajos and Bert  Anthony Menardo (30-34), Ramie Lawas and Jeremiah Pastoriza(35-39), Tony Cabardo and Vontaire Montebon(40-44)Ambrosio Valdezand Isidro Moradas(45-49) and Joy Danao and Brian Lim(50-above).

In the distaff side, the top placers were Blanche Tiffany Quijada and Hannah Bun (29-under), Diane Faye Sun (30-39) and Christine Carvajal (40-above).

In the Sunset run,  Commendador claimed the 10K title with Lizanne Abella, while Olmilla and Maria Emparatriz Limosnero were the winners in the 5K division. — (FREEMAN)
