Murder raps filed vs beheaded maid’s boss
MANILA, Philippines - The Makati City police yesterday filed murder charges against the employer and two workmates of a teenage maid who was found beheaded last month.
Alelli Froilan Yap, Akiko Nyron San Diego Lindon and Crissamae Ariel Chali reportedly played a part in the killing of Richelle Sagang, 17, based on witnesses’ sworn statements and closed-circuit television footage obtained from the crime scene, said Senior Superintendent Joel Urdoña, who heads Task Group Sagang.
Sagang’s headless body was found near a slaughterhouse in Sta. Maria, Bulacan on Jan. 12 and her severed head in a creek in Makati City on Jan. 14.
Yap was Sagang’s employer while Lindon and Chali are reportedly her workmates.
Urdoña said that Yap appeared before the Southern Police District (SPD) when she was invited for investigation.
“She denied the allegation and she was answering our questions contrary to what we wanted to know,” he said.
Police reported that Yap and the two other suspects brought Sagang to the guardhouse of Ayala Alabang Subdivision on Jan. 12 for allegedly stealing some of her employer’s belongings.
Hours later, Sagang’s body was found in Bulacan at around 11 p.m.
Police investigators said the three suspects were the last persons seen with Sagang before she went missing.
Urdoña said that Sagang’s remains are still at the funeral parlor. Her family is waiting for the filing of charges before they claim her body, he added.
