Chot to bare 24-man Gilas pool Sunday

MANILA, Philippines – Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes will announce the 24-man Gilas Pilipinas pool this Sunday, January 22, between the first and second PBA matches. The pool will comprise 12 veterans and 12 cadets. 

This Sunday’s PBA matches will be held at the PhilSports Arena, and will pit the Alaska Aces against the Mahindra Floodbuster at 4:30 p.m. and the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings versus the Phoenix Petroleum Fuel Masters at 6:45 p.m.

This is Reyes’ third stint with the Philippine Men’s National Basketball Team. He was head coach from 2005-08 and from 2012-2014.

Under his leadership, the nationals returned to the world basketball stage by way of its silver medal finish during the 2013 FIBA Asia Championships. He also skippered the team to a gold medal during the 2012 William Jones Cup and a pair of bronze medal finishes during 2005 and 2007 editions.
