Why must we vote for Sen. Grace Poe

This coming May election is a challenging and critical one, “a crossroad of journey as citizens” – as we elect the president who will charter the course of our country and lead the 104 million Filipinos to our six-year journey!

The disastrous effects of inept performance and callousness for the welfare and interests of our peoples are continuously experienced: the long queue of our Kababayans under the intense heat braving the unsafe, unreliable overcrowded, hot, uncomfortable LRT and MRT, where billions of pesos had been poured.

The hellish traffic wasting commuters’ time an average of six hours or more, to and from their work, EVERYDAY! 

The continuing NAIA “tanim-bala” scams, the Kidapawan farmers who desperately sought for rice to feed their hungry families but were met instead with bullets, the Mamasapano massacre, etc. That no heads of those responsible for their aggravation rolled fueled their desperation!

These DAILY experiences must have driven our countrymen to support Duterte, whom they regard as an emancipator, despite his numerous highly controversial-adversarial attitude, character, utterances. A political analyst aptly put saying: “The votes for Duterte are PROTEST votes of our Kababayans for their utter frustrations with P-Noy’s daang matuwid,” on whose promises they banked on for better lives. Their frustrations have been borne by the inefficiency and maladministration in addressing their basic needs. Our economy must have improved, but didn’t bring inclusive growth and not felt by the bulk of our masses.

 Grace Poe is the anti-thesis of Duterte! She is everything that he is not!

Ana Maria Nemenzo of Woman Health Philippines declared: “If Duterte wins, its going to be a tragedy, not only for the women’s movement, but also for the country.”

Under Sen. Grace Poe’s administration all Filipinos will benefit, not just the privileged few. It can be done, if we get rid of corruption that deprives our people of the much-needed benefits and support. Grace Poe’s 20 doable comprehensive-economic platforms are designed to uplift people’s welfare. The other candidates have served for a long time, but where did they bring us to? Allegations of corruption and maladministration hound them!

Let us elect Sen. Grace Poe: she has good upright moral values, and campaigns on a high-decent ground. Honest and sincere, will not steal our people’s money. No corruption allegations!  Humble, does not resort to name calling.  Respectable, can promote better, harmonious, positive relationships with many countries for trade and security. Very responsible and hard working, as attested to by Dean Lavina of Ateneo, and others who work with her.

 Courageous, her Mamasapano report cited PNoy as responsible for it, called it a massacre, not encounter, as they preferred. Fights back when hit, without using vulgar language and expletives! Absolutely respects human rights, and have high regards for seniors, women and children. Vows to promote and protect welfare of workers. A stateswoman with finesse who can navigate our political, economic, and social compass. She can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with ally countries to build strong relations on many issues, especially the West Philippine Sea.

No family members are actively involved in politics. Being an independent candidate, she will not endorse a successor using government resources. Instead, will focus her precious remaining time and attention to urgent national matters for a good legacy.

Grace Poe is the youngest presidential candidate and possesses a healthy body, sound brilliant mind, who can best stand the rigors and multifarious demands of the presidency. Topped with deep spirituality that moors her to high moral ground and sensitivity to our people’s urgent needs, she will be a “true servant leader president,” who can inspire us to serve our beloved country.

Pray this will be a fair and honest election. Be vigilant! Safeguard our sacred votes so the true chosen candidates of the Filipinos are proclaimed!
