Michelle, our belle

PEOPLE - Joanne Rae M. Ramirez - The Philippine Star
Michelle, our belle

Miladay president Michelle Dayrit Soliven before the portrait of her mother, Mila Dayrit.

When we buy something precious, we should go to someone whose reputation is just as priceless.

My classmate Michelle Dayrit Soliven is one of five siblings behind Miladay (the others being Jaqui Boncan, Mark Dayrit, Christine Dayrit and Yvonne Romualdez).

Michelle is a cancer survivor twice over and throughout her journey toward healing, she was saving lives and bringing her friends and classmates closer to God by strengthening their faith in Him.

Another classmate was narrating to me the other night how, during the most fervent prayer meetings for Michelle, her friends would be asking, “Why her again, God?” Michelle would reply with a smile, “But why not me?”

So my classmates cried even more at such faith and cheerfulness from someone so tested already.

Michelle would also tell her prayer warriors that she was happy she was the one suffering, rather than her family. Such selflessness!

So actually, this is not an endorsement of Miladay, but an affirmation of the character of Michelle. I mean, how can you not trust a brand when there’s someone like Michelle, our batch belle, behind it?

Now 51 years old, Miladay was passed on by its founder Mila Dayrit to her and husband Ting’s five children — all of whom believe that family ties are worth more than their weight in gold. (Family squabbles over money — what’s that?)

There are 51,000 reasons to love Miladay. One of them is the #MiladayNow Gold Tag Collection that was recently launched at the newly renovated House of Miladay in Jupiter, Makati City.

The #MiladayNow Gold Tag Collection is a sparkling mix of diamonds, sapphires, pearls and gold. The collection does not only offer a variety of stones and styles, it also offers a pocket-friendly price range of P51,000 and below. The #MiladayNow Gold Tag Collection encompasses the brand’s promise of premium quality in jewelry. The “gold tag” in the name represents value for every jewelry purchase. This beautiful collection was born out of the jewelry company’s founder Mila Dayrit’s dream, “For every Filipino to own a Miladay no matter how small.”

This dream came all too vivid when the Dayrit siblings Michelle, Yvonne and Mark, together with the third generation jewelers Nikki Boncan Buensalido (with beautiful daughter Annika in tow), Alexandra Dayrit, Samantha Dayrit and Carin Romualdez, recently presented #MiladayNow Gold Tag Collection to their guests — a collection of sparkling everyday jewels for every generation.

Guests were treated to a delicious and Instagram-worthy grazing table created by Miladay’s creative consultant Mike Mina. The grazing table was a festive mix of different types of cheese, cold cuts, nuts, fruits, crackers and sweet treats. On top of that, guests also enjoyed champagne, strawberries and hors d’oeuvres by Chef Jessie.

Lucky guests also went home with some fabulous prizes as Miladay gave away dazzling gold jewelry and goodie bags filled with sweet treats from the Healing Servants Foundation.

Miladay’s 51st Anniversary celebration continues as the #MiladayNow Gold Tag Collection is now available in all Miladay’s 10 stores. Visit any store now and get tagged in a golden way with #MiladayNow.
