Marco Polo Ortigas Manila continues to up the ante as the five-star hotel’s refined and fashionable all-day restaurant Cucina launched its newest a la carte menu.

Led by general manager Frank Reichenbach and director of marketing communications Judith Los Baños, the event was attended by noted businessmen and socialites who know a thing or two about fine cuisine.

The restaurant’s latest all-time classic signature dishes like white onion soup with seared scallops, Chilean sea bass and chocolate Grand Marnier slice were specially crafted by executive chef Alisdair Bletcher.

A wonderful, sparkling afternoon was had by all.

Congratulations to Marco Polo Ortigas for a successful launch!

‘Why We Fight’

In honor of women’s strength and unwavering spirit, Jewelmer Joallerie partners with the ICanServe Foundation to champion a universal cause: the fight for life itself.

ICanServe is a non-profit organization advocating breast cancer awareness and providing hope and help to women with the condition.

On Oct. 8, during the foundation’s third annual fundraising fashion show called  Fashion Can Serve, Jewelmer Joallerie, led by its group chairman Manuel Cojuangco, group president and CEO Jacques Branellec and EVP and deputy CEO Jacques Christophe Branellec, will unveil the “Why We Fight” bracelet.

The bracelet symbolizes the inexhaustible beauty existing in nature and unbreakable strength intrinsic in all women. In the spirit of unity and empowerment, muses donning the creations of six celebrated local designers will grace the runway during the show with the people who inspire them to fight on. Part of the proceeds from the bracelet sales will be donated to the foundation.

With this partnership, Jewelmer Joallerie and ICanServe unite all in the fight against breast cancer.

A feast for friends

Alice Briones recently feted her friends Sen. Cynthia Villar and Minerva Tanseco with a delightful lunch at the Café Rizal of the newly refurbished Rizal Park Hotel, formerly the Army and Navy Club, in Manila.

The gathering, attended by the three lovely women’s friends, lasted until the evening.

Until the next time, ladies!
