Dispersal sa anti-US rally imbestigahan!

MANILA, Philippines - Pinaiimbestigahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang nangyaring dispersal sa rally ng mga aktibista sa harap ng US Embassy sa Roxas Blvd., Maynila kamakalawa.

Sinabi ng Pangulo sa media briefing sa Beijing, China na nais muna niyang paimbestigahan ang pangyayari kay PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa bago siya magbigay ng kanyang pananaw kung sino ang mayroong pagkakamali.

“I do not know what happened. I was just shown by the footage. I am not ready...Though I think the demonstration was made in the premises of the US embassy and there was a dispersal. I have given my orders for a maximum tolerance policy sa pulis let them...I said early on: If you want to demonstrate tell me. I’ll give you a permit for one week just do not invade the Constitutional orders of the right also to use the streets and be safe,” paliwanag pa ni Duterte.

“I will have to investigate. I’ll have to make calls tonight. But just to be very sure that I do not commit or I do not stray along other side issues, I will just wait for the official announcement to make upon my arrival. By that time, I would have completed my assessment, personal, which will be provided by the police and the military. And, of course, not only the emba --- the DILG. So…And I would also would want to hear the report of the Executive Secretary who takes care of our government while we are away here. I am not going into the blame-game. I am not going into the blame-game as the start,” dagdag pa ni Duterte.

Umani ng batikos ang Manila Police District (MPD) matapos sagasaan ng mobile patrol nito ang nagpo-protestang mga aktibista sa harap ng US Embassy kamakalawa kung saan ay nasa 50 raliyista ang nasaktan.

Samantala, sa Senate number 210 na inihain ni Sen. Grace Poe, nais nitong imbestigahan ng Senado ang nasabing pangyayari upang makabuo ng batas na titiyak sa pagsunod sa “rules of engagement” ng PNP para maiwasan ang sobrang paggamit ng puwersa sa mga public assemblies.

Sinabi ni Poe na dapat ring matiyak na magkakaroon ng pananagutan o ‘accountability’ ang mga hindi sumusunod sa rules of engagement.

Ayon kay Poe, kahit pa sabihing sumobra na ang mga raliyista, pero ang maliwanag na paulit-ulit na pagsagasa sa mga nagpo-protesta ng police van ay “barbaric” at ilegal.

Sa resolusyon 487 naman na inihain ng Makabayan bloc sa Kamara, inatasan nila ang House Committee on Human Rights na imbestigahan in aid of legislation ang marahas na dispersal dahil sa sinagasaan umano ni PO2 Franklin Kho gamit ang kanilang mobile car ang mga nagpoprotesta sa harap ng US Embassy.

Nasa 42 naman ang inaresto ng mga pulis kasama ang medical team at ilang mga taga media.

Para naman kay Ifugao Rep. Teddy Baguilat, dapat na may managot at may ulong gumulong dahil sa nasabing insidente.
