THE PEPPER MILL - Pepper Teehankee - The Philippine Star

The launch of the biggest outdoor cinema event in the Philippines, HOOQ Hangouts, recently made waves as it featured the Hollywood TV hit series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow at the BGC Amphitheater in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

The BGC Amphitheater was transformed into a free outdoor cinema venue with massive LED screens, beanbags, blankets and cushions for the audience to fully enjoy the show. Those who attended the event also got to enjoy on-ground entertainment, munch on free popcorn and check out on-ground activities. They also had a chance to win raffle prizes.

Brand ambassadors Jessy Mendiola and Xian Lim hosted the program and gave away prizes to the lucky members of the audience.

The event was made possible by HOOQ, Asia’s first and largest video-on-demand service, and Globe Live.

Country manager of HOOQ Philippines Jane Cruz-Walker said that HOOQ Hangouts, which will be a regular monthly event, aims to build a stronger HOOQ community by bringing people together so they can watch the best movies and hottest TV releases.

Globe senior advisor for consumer business Dan Horan said, “Events like HOOQ Hangouts achieve the intent of Globe Live to produce quality on-ground events to create more meaningful engagements with our customers. Together with the largest video-on-demand service, we are able to give everyone access to an extensive library of the best TV and movie titles making the Filipino digital lifestyle experience more wonderful.”

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow completes the catalogue of DC shows that are now available on HOOQ, which include The Flash, Arrow, Gotham and Supergirl.

Other favorites now available on HOOQ are fantasy police procedural comedy-drama series Lucifer, The Lord of The Rings, The Matrix and Harry Potter.

HOOQ is Asia’s largest video-on-demand service hosting over 10,000 movies and TV shows available for streaming or download.

Look good, feel great

In their teens and twenties, some women suffer from pimples and blackheads. By their thirties, wrinkles, sagging skin and open pores make their unwelcome appearance. When the forties roll in, the signs of aging are in full manifest: wrinkles, sagging skin, open pores, laugh lines, dark spots, puffy eyes and melasma/pigmentation.

Worry less, because the pursuit of youth, vitality and energy starts and ends at Watsons with its new campaign “Kiss Aging Goodbye!” Asia’s leading health and beauty store understands that Filipinas use anti-aging products because they want to maintain their youthful appearance and consequently, a more positive disposition in life. There is a desire to continue and live the way they used to, like when they were at the pink of their health.

Watsons marketing director Viki Encarnacion said, “The campaign is an educational effort with a two-pronged approach, teaching our customers how to prevent the negative effects of aging by taking care of themselves inside and out. We are literally helping people look good and feel great.”

The Kiss Aging Goodbye! launch was held at Watsons store at The Podium in Ortigas. Patty Laurel-Filart, Valerie Tan, Camille Co and Nicole Andersson were amazed at the unbelievable discounts being offered by the following anti-aging experts: L’Oréal Dermo Expertise Revitalift Range (50-percent off on entire range from Sept. 16 to 18); iVi Collagen Ready to Drink (10-percent off for every box) and Collagen by Watsons Facial Mask (buy two, take one).

Find your greatest allies in defying aging at any Watsons store nationwide.
