The material revolution
It was indeed an unforgettable celebration when guests recently made their way to 71 Gramercy in Makati City to attend the launch of various Ray-Ban lines that highlighted the brand’s trailblazing materials.
During the event, seven materials were highlighted through booths that housed each corresponding line: Steel, Leather, Camo, Liteforce, Gummy, Ice pop and Full Color. Guests had the chance to enjoy each booth and try on Ray-Ban eyewear, as photos of them with the hashtag #WhatYoureMadeOf made the rounds in social media. I went through the booths fast and what caught my eyes were the classic aviators in stainless steel. I carefully went through the booths with other guests and members of the press and we finished our tour of the booths in an hour as there were so many new Ray-Ban styles to choose from!
After going through the material booths, I have learned that the booths were just the tip of the iceberg. Guests lounged at the Ray-Ban couch while enjoying cupcakes, ice popsicles and candy stations. There were also the virtual graffiti wall and painting area. Others enjoyed a beer pong tournament while some personalized their accessories via a steel engraving area. Models sported the latest Ray-Ban eyewear through a fashion show. The audience got their fill of drinks and goodies with Ray-Ban merchandise given away.
After the fun afternoon event, I went home to freshen up for the nighttime party at the same venue. Spotted enjoying were Pauline Juan, Daryl Chang, Liz Uy, MJ Marfori, Victor Basa, Sanya Smith, Sarah Meier, Maxene Magalona, Vince Velasco, Mark McMahon, Paul Drake, Natasha Bautista, Gwen Garci and Albert Martinez.
Raymond Gutierrez and DJ Euric shared hosting duties for the nighttime event.
