Isabela: Your next venue of choice

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton - The Philippine Star

A new, more stylized and modern event space was unveiled at the Makati Shangri-La through a chic event launch called “Nouveau” to signify new beginnings. The hotel’s newly renovated, second ballroom named “Isabela” is expected to be the next venue of choice for corporate and social gatherings in Makati City.

“There is no other function space in the city that offers innovative culinary concepts, interchangeable furniture, a private dining area, a dedicated bar, modern lighting and audiovisual technology all in one place,” Makati Shangri-La’s hotel manager Andrew den Oudsten said.  For intimate gatherings, a 22-seater dining area is located at the corner of the foyer, with its own dedicated kitchen studio.

A highlight of the evening was the ceremonial handover of the “key” to the incoming area manager and general manager Alain Borgers by former area manager and general manager Reto Klauser. Aside from his hotel base in Makati, Borgers will be at the helm of other Shangri-La hotels and resorts in the Philippines.

Congratulations to Alain Borgers! Godspeed, Reto Klauser!

‘Stay strong, Philippines!’

The bayanihan spirit lives on as The Bellevue Hotels and Resorts (BH&R), led by the hardworking chairman Johnny Chan, organizes a benefit concert for the people affected by the Bohol earthquake and Super Typhoon Yolanda.

The fundraising show dubbed “#staystrongph” will be held at The Bellevue Manila’s hottest entertainment spot, Vue Bar, on Nov. 25, Monday at 7 p.m. and will feature the well-known and multi-awarded OPM band Side A, performing back to back with one of Manila’s promising club acts, Milan.

Tickets are available at The Bellevue Manila’s front desk for only P550, consumable for food and beverage. Table reservation is on a first-to-purchase basis. Ticket sales and all other food and beverage sales of this one-night event will be donated to the Philippine Red Cross for their relief efforts in Bohol and the affected provinces of Super Typhoon Yolanda.

An evening to remember

It was a wonderful night full of songs, enjoyable conversations and hearty laughter as family and friends all gathered at the home of the Co family in Pasig City to celebrate the birthday of their charming first lady, Zabeth Co.

The celebrator’s ever-supportive husband, Hoseki founder Faico, together with children Ivan, Harold and wife Grace and Stefan, made sure that all guests had a fantastic time the entire evening while enjoying the mouthwatering dishes at the dinner party.

A remarkable song number by Faico and Zabeth served as the grand finale of the night, making this event a truly memorable celebration for everyone.

Here’s to more blessed and happy years, Zabeth!
