MMDA to start vehicle tagging scheme on Dec.12
MANILA, Philippines – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be implementing the tagging scheme on public utility vehicles starting Dec. 12.
MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino said the agency will start apprehending PUVs without the color-coded license number on the roof, back and side of the vehicles.
Under the scheme, violators will be slapped with P500 fine.
On the second infraction, drivers will shell out P500 or the MMDA has the option to recommend the cancellation or suspension of the franchise to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board.
