MANILA, Philippines — The Light Rail Transit Line 1 was once again seen running with its doors open in a video that was posted online on Monday.
On Monday, netizen Jason Ibe shared a video of the train which operated with its doors open.
A Pilipino Star Ngayon report said the LRT train ran with its doors open from Vito Cruz to Quirino station. The doors were forcibly closed at the Quirino station, the report said.
Ibe likened his train ride to an amusement park ride.
“Parang nasa star city lang ako hahahahha. Bucket list achieved: makasakay sa LRT na bukas ang pinto,” Ibe wrote on his Facebook account.
The video of Ibe’s train ride was shared by over 3,000 netizens and earned reactions from almost 2,000 users.
No one was reportedly hurt from the incident and people in the video were heard laughing at the incident while others were cautious.
Ina televised report on TV Patrol, LRT-1 explained that the train was not able to detect the opened doors due to a glitch in the sensor. It advised the public to stop forcing the doors open.
In March 2016, a video of a similar incident also went viral. LRT-1 drew flak from netizens after one of its trains was allowed to run even if its doors were open.
LRT-1 management previously apologized to the passengers aboard the trains and vowed to conduct a probe regarding the incident.
