MANILA, Philippines — American President Donald Trump could not help praise the spectacle at the gala celebration hosted by his counterpart, Rodrigo Duterte, on Sunday night.
On Monday, Trump thanked the Philippine president for the hospitality and praised the performances on the eve of the ASEAN Summit in Manila.
"The show last night, the talent at that show — I assume mostly from the Philippines — was fantastic. Thank you," Trump said after his bilateral meeting with Duterte.
The show featured some of the country's best performing artists for the gala celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the 10-nation bloc.
Trump and Duterte were joined by more than a dozen other leaders from Southeast Asia, Australia, Canada, Russia and India. — Video editing by RP Ocampo
