WATCH: What happened in Geneva weeks before the end of 'Tokhang'?

A short video explaining what happened at the Universal Periodic Review of the Philippines before the United Nations' human rights body in Geneva in September.

Weeks before President Rodrigo Duterte declared the end of the Philippine National Police's controversial "Tokhang" and "Double Barrel" operations that led to the killing of thousands of drug suspects, the Philippine government received criticisms over its approach in Geneva, Switzerland.

Before the United Nationa Human Rights Council in September, the human rights situation in the Philippines was reviewed by different nations, many of whom urged Duterte's government to halt and investigate the deaths in the drug war.

The Department of Foreign Affairs, however, claimed that the Philippines scored a victory in its Universal Periodic Review. The statement did not accurately reflect what happened.
