WATCH: Why the plan to return Marcos stolen wealth raises eyebrows

A video on why the offer to return stolen wealth may not exactly be lawful.

President Rodrigo Duterte announced in August that the Marcos family expressed willingness to return a "few" gold bars.

This is acknowledged to be a portion of the wealth the former first family—sent to temporary exile as the Marcos dictatorship was toppled—stole from the public in the 1970s and 1980s.

The offer, however, is not new to those who have been trying to recover the family's ill-gotten wealth, estimated to be around $10 billion.
