MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday visited the wake of victims in the attack on a casino in Pasay City early Friday morning.
Duterte went to Veronica Memorial Chapel and Rizal Funeral Homes, Inc. in Pasay City and to the Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City on Saturday night to condole with the bereaved families.
The president’s visit came after he visited wounded soldiers in Cagayan de Oro City.
Duterte also viewed the security footage of the gunman attacker later on identified by the Philippine National Police as 43-year-old Jessie Carlos, a former employee of the Department of Finance.

In a speech in Subic, Zambales, Duterte dismissed speculations that what happened at Resorts World Manila was a terrorist attack. The PNP earlier said the attack was a robbery attempt, explaining gunman Jessie Carlos was addicted to gambling and was deep in debt.
A total of 37 were found dead of smoke inhalation and more than 50 were hurt after the gambling tables of the posh entertainment complex were set ablaze by the lone gunman last Friday.
