7 cops relieved over drug links

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – Seven police officials in the Negros Island Region have been relieved from their posts on suspicion of involvement in the illegal drug trade.

Superintendent Jacob Crisostomo, San Carlos City chief; Superintendent Rosauro Francisco, Negros Occidental deputy director for operations; Superintendent Santiago Rapiz, community relations chief; Chief Inspector Joemarie Occeño, Valladolid town police officer-in-charge and Superintendent Leonardo Angcon and Chief Inspector Rico Santotome of the provincial police office will be assigned either to Mindanao or Northern Luzon.

Senior Superintendent William Senoron, Negros Occidental police director, said Occeño would be replaced by Inspector Junjie Liba. Chief Inspector Anthony Grande will take over Crisostomo’s post.

Senoron said he is still looking for the replacements of Francisco, Dalisay and Rapiz.
