MANILA, Philippines — STAR entertainment editor Ricky Lo interviews "Inferno" director Ron Howard and star Tom Hanks on why the producers did not choose to include the part about Manila as the "gateway to hell" in Dan Brown's novel.

In "Inferno," famous symbologist Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) follows a trail of clues tied to the great medieval poet Dante himself. When Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones), a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories. Together, they race across Europe and against the clock to foil a deadly global plot.
