Video of the Day: Deaf baby hears mother's voice for the first time
MANILA, Philippines – Lachlan Lever is an Australian infant diagnosed with moderate to severe hearing loss in both ears. At seven weeks, he was fitted with a hearing aid, making him hear his mother's voice for the first time.
The video instantly captured the attention of the social media, going viral in just a week since it was posted on YouTube. The video shows Lachlan crying as the hearing aid was being placed on his ears. He suddenly stopped crying and appeared as if he was enjoying the unfamiliar sounds of the environment.
"He's smiling, he's smiling,” the emotional woman said with a cracking voice. Lanchlan’s smile broadens as he seems to concentrate on the sound of her mother’s voice.
