9-stag derby unfolds in Ynares October 24
MANILA, Philippines - The country’s top breeders and cockers brace for a fierce showdown with their respective aces when they clash in the AA Cobra Big Event 9-stag derby set Oct. 24-27 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Host Charlie Ang, president of the Ultimate Fighting Cock Championships (UFCC) said the same format will be used in the upcoming event, including a 2-stag elims to be followed by the 3-stag semifinals and the 4-stag finals.
Originally scheduled at Resorts World Manila, the three-day stagfest, sponsored by Thunderbird and sabongsports.com, was moved to the Pasig venue due to technical problems.
Meanwhile, participants must submit five stags on Oct. 23 (for elims and semifinals) and four stags on Oct. 26 (for finals) from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. only.
Only Bakbakan stags from International Federation of Gamefowl Breeders (FIGBA) and Digmaan stags from Pambansang Federation Ng Gamefowl Breeders (PFGB - Digmaan, Inc.) will be allowed.
