MANILA, Philippines – Representatives from the Philippines recently participated in one of the world’s largest aviation and space technology exhibitions.

The International Air and Space Salon also known as MAKS (Russian abbreviation) was held from August 25 to 30 at the Zhukovsky airfield in Moscow.

Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos D. Sorreta headed the Philippine delegation to the MAKS. The delegation included Capt. Noel de Vera of the Philippine Navy and Third Secretary and Vice Consul Luningning G. Camoying of the Philippine Embassy in Moscow.

The exhibition highlights Russian priorities and achievements in the aerospace industry while serving as a venue for experts, businessmen and government decision-makers to establish linkages and promote greater industrial cooperation and commercial engagements.

This year’s edition gathered 760 foreign and local exhibitors, including the biggest names in the aerospace industries of Russia, US, France, Germany, Canada and China, respectively.
