Netizens still #ChickenSad
MANILA, Philippines - After almost a week, the Filipino palate is still craving for the taste of that crispy golden-skinned fried chicken. Apparently, Jollibee is not yet back on its track.
Last week, an apparent shortage of Jollibee’s popular ‘chickenjoy,’ has lead to massive customer complaints. The incident earned the hashtag #ChickenSad from the netizens who bombarded the microblogging sites.
Jollibee Foods vice president for marketing Harvey Ong said on Thursday that the situation was caused by a change in the system and schedule and not by shortage of supplies. According to reports, 72 of Jollibee stores were forced to shut down, and the company is losing millions of pesos a day.
