Non-suspension of classes for SONA leads to disappointment
MANILA, Philippines - Filipinos sound off their disappointment with the non-suspension of classes today for the State of the Nation Address (SONA) this year.
Students, workers, and all those who have to go to their classes and workplace showed through social media how disappointed they are that they would not be able to watch the SONA 2014. Some even said that today should be declared as a holiday, because SONA is addressed to the people, therefore, the people must hear it blow by blow. Unfortunately, not all of us can do so.
There should really be no classes today for college students, we need to listen to the #SONA2014 we're adults now! #itsnotalazyexcuse

The government did not declare July 28 a non-working day for state employees even if President Aquino’s fifth SONA falls on this day. Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said Filipinos could not expect a long holiday because of the SONA, which falls on a Monday. Click this link to see the list of schools without classes.
