John Unson - The Philippine Star

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Four drug suspects have been killed while 120 others were arrested in separate police operations in  Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos) since January, officials said yesterday.

Of the 120 arrested suspects, 111 were drug traffickers and the rest were users, according to Chief Superintendent Marcelo Morales of the Soccsksargen police.

He said the four fatalities were killed in alleged firefights with police officers tasked to arrest them.

Morales thanked local officials for supporting the police‘s campaign against illegal drugs.

He said a majority of the arrest were based on information provided by local officals, barangay leaders and civilians.

Records showed that aside from shabu, police also seized a large volume of dried marijuana in separate operations.
