AFP gets ammo, explosives from US
MANILA, Philippines — Representatives of the Joint United States Military Assistance Group have delivered ammunition and explosives to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to enhance its counterterrorism capabilities.
The delivery at Subic Bay last Jan. 18 was made under the Mutual Logistics Support Agreement (MLSA).
The AFP receives select ammunition and equipment from US military stock through an accelerated purchase process reserved for allies and close partners of the US under the MLSA.
“The United States is a proud and steadfast ally of the Philippines and will continue to engage in mutually beneficial military cooperation to enhance the capabilities of our forces,” the US embassy said in a statement.
