2 fishing boats  capsize off CamSur

Twenty-three other fishermen reportedly managed to take shelter in Barangays Butawan and Pamintan in Siruma town and Agaygayan in Tinambac.

LEGAZPI  , Philippines  — Four persons were rescued while one remained missing after two fishing boats capsized off Camarines Sur amid inclement weather on Friday.

Twenty-three other fishermen reportedly managed to take shelter in Barangays Butawan and Pamintan in Siruma town and Agaygayan in Tinambac.

Amador, 54, and Ricky, 45, both surnamed Clores, were rescued near a resort in Barangay Ilawod in Caramoan.

Felix Gianan, 15, and Lito Barwel were rescued after drifting in the waters off Barangay Paniman.

A certain Lito Barwel remained missing as of 7 p.m. on Friday, according to the Caramoan municipal disaster risk reduction and management office.

The boats were hit by big waves at about 6 p.m., Senior Inspector Malou Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said quoting the rescued fishermen.

Landslides

Meanwhile,  landslides were reported in more areas in Camarines Sur due to heavy rains spawned by the tail-end of a cold front and northeast monsoon.

The landslides occurred in Barangays Tubli and Sabloyon in Caramoan and Paraidso and District 3 in San Miguel.

Many barangays in Camarines Sur remained submerged in floodwater.

In Catanduanes, Barangays Oga and Del Sur in Pandan; San Miguel, Mabini, Salvacion, Cabuoan and San Vicente in Panganiban Tobrehon, San Marcos, San Juan, Obo, Siay, Dayawa, Pacogon, Sitio Latas and Balatohan in San Miguel were also inundated.

Arnel Garcia, Department of Social Welfare and Development-Bicol director, said relief goods were distributed to affected families.
