2 die in road mishaps

MANILA, Philippines — Two persons died in road accidents in Isabela and Pangasinan on Tuesday.

Jefferson Nicolas, 24, was in a tricycle that rammed the steel railing in the middle of the road in Barangay Pantal in Dagupan.  His companions Dan Sherwin Santos, 30, and his brother Mac Ryan were injured and remained confined at the Region 1 Medical Center.       

The motorcycle that John Mark Quitola, 17, was driving collided with another motorcycle in Barangay Villa Imelda, Ilagan, Isabela.

Quitola’s companion Jeffrey Valenzuela and the riders of the other motorcycle, Melvin Estioco, 19, and Romeo Aquino, 20, were injured and taken to various hospitals for treatment.

Initial investigation showed Estioco, who was found positive for alcohol, crashed into Quitola’s motorbike in the opposite lane while overtaking another vehicle.
