Baguio temperature drops to 11.5° C

Artemio Dumlao - The Philippine Star

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Mornings in this city get colder.

From 12.8 degrees Celsius on Friday, the temperature dropped to 11.5 degrees Celsius yesterday.

Catholic devotees braved the cold weather and trooped to the Baguio Cathedral and other churches to attend Simbang Gabi or dawn mass that started yesterday.

The temperature was lower by two degrees Celsius in other places in Benguet. The cold weather was felt until noon.

On Jan. 16, 1963, the temperature in this city was recorded at 6.3 degrees, the lowest in recent history.

Baguio’s signature chill usually starts in November and ends in February.
