MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm Urduja remains almost stationary and continues to bring damage over Eastern Visayas, PAGASA said Thursday.
 
In its 8 p.m. severe weather bulletin, PAGASA said "Urduja" is expected to make landfall over Eastern Samar on Friday morning. It brings an estimated moderate to heavy rainfall amount within its 400 km diameter.
 
The tropical storm was estimated based on all available data at 85 km east-southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar at 7 p.m. on Thursday. It packs maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph. 
 
"Urduja" is forecast to move west at 7 kph.
 
Scattered to widespread rains is expected over Visayas and the regions of Bicol, Caraga and Northern Mindanao within 24 hours. Residents in these areas are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.
 
Signal No. 1 was raised over Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate including Burias and Ticao Islands, and Romblon Leyte, Southern Leyte, Northern Cebu including Bantayan Island, Capiz, Aklan, and Northern Iloilo Dinagat Islands.

Fisherfolks and those with small seacraft are advised not to venture out over the eastern seaboard of Bicol and in the seaboards of Visayas due to rough to very rough seas associated with the approaching tropical storm.

  • 48 hours (Saturday afternoon): 45 km east-northeast of Roxas City, Capiz
  • 72 hours (Sunday afternoon): 120 km north-northeast of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan
  • 96 hours (Monday afternoon): 200 km west-northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan
