Air Force man slain by colleague

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — An Air Force soldier gunned down his senior colleague at the Philippine Air Force  headquarters in Barangay Lumbia in this city on Friday night.

A police report identified the victim as S/Sgt. Renante Blanco, 39, a resident of Barangay Pulung Maragul in Angeles, Pampanga.

He was declared dead on arrival at a military hospital in Barangay Patag.

Blanco and Airman 2nd Class Reymart Jayme Noquera, 26, were having a drinking spree when they had an altercation, Airman 2nd Class Alijani Sapaynai told investigators.

Police recovered 16 bullet shells for a rifle at the scene.

Noquera is being held at the detention facility of the Fourth Infantry Division.
