3 die as car hits  power post

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna  , Philippines  —   Three persons died while two others were injured after their car hit a power post of the Manila Electric Co. in Dasmariñas, Cavite before dawn yesterday.

Juan Paulo Devilla and his passengers Jansen Rysel Mercado and John Davie Ramirez died at the scene following the accident that occurred along the Aguinaldo Highway in Barangay San Agustin.

Their companions, Noriel Candelaria and Kevin Devilla, were taken to the Pagamutan ng Bayan ng Dasmariñas for treatment of injuries, according to Police Officer 1 Sherlyn Hernandez.

The victims, who were in a Toyota sedan, were headed for Manila from Tagaytay City when they figured in the accident at around 1:30 a.m.

Hernandez expressed belief the car could have developed engine trouble, causing the driver to lose control of the wheel.

7 hurt in P’sinan road mishaps

Meanwhile, seven persons were injured in four separate vehicular accidents in Pangasinan on Saturday.

Levito Dado, 63, was biking in Barangay San Felipe Sur, Binalonan when he was hit by a utility van driven by Policarpio Fernandez.

Erwin Dimalanta was on a motorcycle when he collided with a tricycle driven by Raymundo Macam in Barangay Tandoc, San Carlos City.

Dimalanta and Macam were taken to separate hospitals for treatment.

Barangay councilman Rodel Erto was also on a motorcycle when he was hit by a van driven by another village official, identified as Imran Racman in Barangay Poblacion, San Fabian.

Racman, his passenger Kadidiya Racman and
Erto were taken to the Region I Medical Center in Dagupan City for treatment.

Christian Tinte was on a motorcycle when he figured in an accident in Barangay Tandoc, San Carlos City.

Tinte was reportedly drunk and was not wearing a helmet during the accident.    – With Cesar Ramirez
