LGU execs to be trained in HR management
MANILA, Philippines — Local government officials will undergo training in human resource management and organization development to better understand the value of human resources in achieving their goals.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) recently created the Local Executives Program (LEP) requiring governors, vice governors, mayors, vice mayors, councilors and administrators of the country’s 1,715 provinces, cities and municipalities to participate.
The one-day training will feature globally accepted concepts on leadership and strategic human resourcing.
It will also provide an opportunity for the officials to fully understand the Civil Service law and the rules of local governance.
The CSC, through its 16 regional offices nationwide, will oversee the implementation of the program.
The CSC’s Civil Service Institute will monitor and evaluate the program.
The DILG’s Local Government Academy will support the evaluation of the program content and delivery, and encourage participation of local executives.
