3 kids drown in Camarines Norte

LEGAZPI CITY  , Philippines  —  A stroll along the seashore turned into a tragedy after three children drowned when they were swept away by a strong undertow in Mercedes, Camarines Norte on Wednesday.

Jasmine Sierra, 8, and her siblings John Adrian, 5, and Jomel, 3, and their father Jerry were in Barangay 4 when the accident occurred at about 7 p.m.

Jerry managed to swim to the shore.

Search and rescue operations for the children were immediately launched.
