Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A barangay watchman was arrested in Batangas on Monday for violation of the gun ban imposed for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) meetings.

Jerry Virtucio, 37, of Barangay Bagong Pook, San Jose was collared at around 1:15 p.m. after he was accused of indiscriminate firing.

Police said a .45-caliber pistol  with four bullets were recovered from Virtucio.

A 15-day gun ban has been imposed in Metro Manila, Calabarzon and Central Luzon starting Nov. 1 as part of the security measures being implemented to ensure the safety of the leaders of ASEAN member countries and other delegates.
