Weeklong power outages to hit Cebu

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Blackouts will be experienced in parts of Cebu for one week to pave the way for regular maintenance work, upgrading and repair of power facilities.

The power interruption, which will affect several barangays in Cebu City, Mandaue and Liloan, started yesterday. There is no scheduled power outage on Nov. 12, but it will resume on Nov. 13 until Nov. 16.

“The power interruptions are scheduled…in various areas in our franchise,” Queenie Bronce, Visayan Electric Co. (Veco) reputation enhancement department manager, said yesterday.

Residents are advised to visit Veco’s Facebook page or call (032) 253-8326 for a detailed list of the power outages. – Casey Que/The Freeman
