Créche dedicated to Marawi soldiers

TARLAC CITY  , Philippines  —     The Northern Luzon Command has dedicated its entry to this year’s Belenismo sa Tarlac contest to soldiers who fought in Marawi.  

Army chief Lt. Gen. Rolando Joselito Bautista said soldiers and policemen helped make the créche using wooden platforms, discarded tarpaulins and camouflage cloth, among other recyclable materials. The entry is titled “Marawi sa Panahon ng Kayapaan.” 

Isa Cojuangco-Suntay, chairperson of the Tarlac Heritage Foundation, said there are 44 entries in this year’s contest, which opened at Camp Aquino in this city on Monday.

Suntay said the categories this year are community, church, monumental and grand, with prizes of P70,000, P80,000,  P90,000 and P100,000, respectively. 

The final judging is on Nov. 18 while the awarding ceremony is on Dec. 2.
