Car rams trees; 4 dead
ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Four persons died when their car crashed into coconut trees in Roxas, Capiz on Tuesday.
Johnbert Ching Go, 29; Patrick James Llave, 20, and Jomer Baes were declared dead on arrival at the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital. Bryan Macalintal, 21, died on the way to the St. Anthony College Hospital.
The driver of the Mitsubishi Mirage (ABS-3623), Gurpakas Singh, 21, and another passenger, Joy Gico, 22, were wounded and taken to a hospital for treatment.
Probers have yet to determine if the driver was drunk. The victims were on their way home from a drinking spree when the accident occurred.
Three other persons died in accidents involving motorcycles in Cagayan, Tarlac and Isabela in the past two days.
The motorcycle driven by Michael Balisi was hit by a truck along the Manila North Road in Barangay Dibalio, Claveria, Cagayan.
In Tarlac, Dantiella Cacao, 2, was in a tricycle driven by her father when it collided with two motorcycles in Barangay Abogado, Paniqui.
Police Officer 3 Albert Ganido of the police Special Action Force died when his motorcycle was hit by a passenger bus in Barangay Apa-nay, Alicia, Isabela before midnight yesterday.
Police said the accident occurred when Ganido swerved in the opposite lane.
