Man held for carrying Ecstasy pills
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — A man was arrested upon his arrival at the Laguindingan airport in Misamis Oriental for alleged possession of Ecstasy tablets on Monday.
Ralph Martin Rafanan, a resident of this city, was collared by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), who responded to reports that the suspect was carrying illegal drugs.
PDEA agent Ben Calibre said bomb-sniffing dogs found 17 pieces of Ecstasy with an estimated value of P51,000 in a small bottle in Rafanan’s luggage.
Meanwhile, two suspected drug pushers were arrested in a sting in Baguio City yesterday.
Loida Cabbigat, 48, and Frederick Espada, 44, were nabbed after selling shabu to PDEA agents who posed as buyers in Barangay A. Bonifacio, Caguioa-Rimando.
A sachet of shabu, a cell phone and drug paraphernalia were allegedly recovered from the suspects. – Gerry Lee Gorit, Artemio Dumlao, Eva Visperas, Emmanuel Tupas
