Robbers take dead’s shoes, P50

Raymund Catindig - The Philippine Star

TUGUEGARAO, Cagayan, Philippines — Suspected robbers destroyed the tomb of a boy who was recently buried in a cemetery in Bangued, Abra on Sunday and took his leather shoes and money.

Chief Inspector Carol Lacuarta, Cordillera police spokesperson, said the father of the boy found out that the tomb had been ransacked when he came to visit at around 7 p.m.

The man said he saw his son’s clothes scattered outside the tomb. He said a coin purse containing P50 that he put in the coffin was also missing.
