4 drown in Pangasinan, Cagayan

LABRADOR, Pangasinan , Philippines —Three persons drowned on a beach in this town on Saturday and another in Cagayan on Sunday. 

Grade 6 students Ashley Lontoco and Cyrus Vinluan, both 11, were swimming on a beach in Barangay Uyong when they were swept away by the strong current.

Rommel Gonzales, 18, tried to save the two boys, but he also drowned. 

Lontoco died while being treated in a hospital while the bodies of Gonzales and Vinluan were recovered only on Sunday.

In Cagayan, Gemma Ventura was carried away by the strong current while crossing Dummon river in Barangay Calaoagan Dackel in Gattaran amid a heavy downpour.
