Man held for slapping girlfriend

TUGUEGARAO, Cagayan  – A man was arrested for allegedly slapping his girlfriend at a public market in Barangay Centro 1, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan on Monday.

Ronald Hipolito, 31, was charged with violation of the Violence Against Women Act by Stella de la Cruz-Credo, 42, a resident of Barangay Calog Norte, Abulug.

Credo said she felt humiliated because Hipolito slapped her hard that she fell to the floor.

Hipolito for his part, said he felt insulted because Credo and her friend were laughing as he approached them.
