Boy, 12, killed in landslide

MANILA, Philippines — A 12-year-old boy died while his grandparents were injured in a landslide in Cebu City on Friday night.

Kyle Ashley Barcoso, a Grade 5 student, was sleeping at the living room of his grandparents’ rented house in Purok 3, Barangay San Jose when he was pinned by a boulder at past 8 p.m.

It took more than an hour before rescuers recovered  Barcoso’s body.

The boy was pronounced dead on arrival at the Cebu Medical Center where his grandparents were also taken for treatment. – Jean Marvette Demecillo/The Freeman
