5 Vietnamese arrested for illegal fishing

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Five Vietnamese men were arrested for fishing in the waters off Iba, Zambales on Wednesday.

 In a belated report here, personnel of the Naval Forces Northern Luzon arrested Pahn Trum, 39; boat captain Phon Van Tau, 29; Pham Van Tuy, 38; Nguyen Trung Viel, 38, and Pham Minh Tien, 20, on board Xia Ba Keiu Con. 

The fishing vessel was escorted to the Balogo fish port in Barangay Inhobol, Masinloc. The Vietnamese are being held at the police station.  

Three sharks weighing around 40 kilos, four pieces of tuna weighing 15 to 20 kilos and around 35 kilos of dried squid were among the catch confiscated from the fishermen.
