LPA monitored off Surigao del Sur
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has monitored a low-pressure area 460 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over the Visayas, Mindanao and Bicol as well as the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon, PAGASA said.
Lightning, moderate to occasional heavy rains, strong winds and flash floods may be experienced in the areas.
The southwest monsoon is also affecting Palawan, the state weather bureau said.
“Palawan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. Possible lightning, moderate to occasional heavy rains, strong winds and flash floods may also affect residents,” PAGASA said in its 4 p.m. bulletin yesterday.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies apart from isolated rains, mostly in the afternoon or at night.
Localized thunderstorms will bring moderate to occasional heavy rains and strong winds.
