Isabela town engineer, 5 others shot dead
MANILA, Philippines — Motorcycle-riding men gunned down a municipal engineer and five other persons in separate incidents in Isabela, Pampanga, Rizal and Albay on Tuesday. Another person was shot dead in Cagayan yesterday.
Johnny Lazaro, 60, chief engineer of Jones, Isabela, was waiting for his driver in a parking area near a cockpit in Purok 7, Dubinan West, Santiago when he was shot.
Lazaro was declared dead on arrival in a hospital.
Richard Bales and Leonard Evangelista were shot in Barangay Cupang, Antipolo and San Rafael, Rodriguez, respectively.
In Pampanga, Jimmy Tubig, 50, was driving his motorcycle when he was shot in Barangay Suclayin, Arayat, Pampanga. His partner Melody Castor, 26, was wounded and remained confined in a hospital.
Laborer Diosdado Arugay, 30, was sitting in front of his house in Barangay Ugac, Tuguegarao, Cagayan when he was shot. His friend Marcelino Sepnillo, 29, was wounded and taken to the Cagayan Valley Medical Center.
Drug surrenderee Orlando Casil was driving his tricycle in Barangay Estancia, Malinao, Albay when the assailants blocked his path and opened fire.
